The most storied sports trophy in the world will be in Campbell River on Sunday afternoon. That’s right hockey fans, the Stanley Cup will be here with Rod Brind’Amour from 1-3 p.m. at the Tyee Plaza.
“We won’t have time for individual photos but everyone will get a chance to see the Cup and it will be a family event,” said Grant Stewart, one of the organizers of the Rod Brind’Amour golf tournament which benefits cystic fibrosis research. On Monday night, Brind’Amour and the Carolina Hurricanes captured their first Stanley Cup title with a game seven victory over the Edmonton Oilers.
It was also the first Cup for the Canes’ captain who grew up playing hockey in Campbell River. On Saturday, Brind’Amour will be at Storey Creek Golf Course for the fundraising tournament and will then be sporting his big grin for Sunday’s Stanley Cup showcase.
There will be a short procession starting at the downtown Community Hall, led by Mounties, the Campbell River Legion pipe band and vintage cars, followed by Brind’Amour and the Cup in a convertible.
The procession leads to the Tyee Plaza where there will be hotdogs, drinks and ice cream – donated by Thrifty Foods – with the proceeds benefiting cystic fibrosis. In a warm-up to Sunday’s festivities, Mayor Roger McDonell and council helped city workers hoist a banner honouring Brind’Amour. The banner is draped across the city sign at the intersection of the Island Highway and Jubilee Parkway.
“This is bigger than Campbell River. When was the last time the Cup was even on Vancouver Island?” said McDonell.

| You Are 36% Open Minded | You aren't exactly open minded, but you have been known to occasionally change your mind. You're tolerant enough to get along with others who are very different... But you may be quietly judgmental of things or people you think are wrong. You take your own values pretty seriously, and it would take a lot to change them. |

January 1st the Pure Wrestling Association held a show in Cambridge, Ontario entitled "Holiday Hangover." Despite being on a holiday there was still over 150 people at the show.
I wrestled against 'Suicide' Sean Ball in a decent match up. The winner of the match was given the right to be the final entry in the Over the Top Rumble (Winner became #1 Contender for the Pure Wrestling Championship) in the Main Event. Ball hit his Balldriver of the second rope and I was pretty much done. Needless to say Paul Wright was managing me and he got up on the apron so he referee didn't administer the count. Ball was none to pleased and he corked Paul sending him to the floor below, but allowing me enough time to roll him up. My feet magically where all over the ropes.
Later that night it was my turn to come out to the rumble. Ball was still in the ring and he was the second man in the match. Jessy Jones came out with me and instead of getting in the ring we went to the announcers table. Jones announced i (Eddie) had given up his (my) spot and Jones introdued his newest client JC Owens. Ball was pissed, as was Juan Ortiz the only other man in the rumble.
Some how Ball won it.
Next Show: January 7th- PWA in Niagara Falls, Ontario

PWA's Back 2 Skool Sept. 17th, 2005 The MacKay Centre 10 Nelson Street Goderich, Ontario
THE LINE UP
The Main Event will have Reggie Marley, the current reigning and defending Pure Wrestling Champion, teaming with Eddie Osbourne against the local hero Jeff Black and his new tagteam partner Andrew Davis. Jeff Black has been very unsuccessful in Goderich and Eddie Osbourne has been a very big reason for that, now with Jeff's most recent loss in Goderich he has had enough of The Champion Reggie Marley and Eddie. After being attacked after the match Black had with Reggie, Andrew Davis made the unlikely save and it seems the two are on the same page and they look to become a very dominate force in the PWA. If Davis and Black win this match Jeff will have another shot at Reggie Marley's Championship, however if they lose Reggie and Eddie will pick the Wildboyz opponents for the next show in Goderich.
This has been the biggest story since Jake O'Rielly was jumped and told PWA he didn't want any part of Jessy Jones. Who is going to replace Jake and take on the 'History Maker' Jessy Jones in his first ever Internet Championship defense? The answer has finally been answered as his challenger will be a NWA/TNA superstar. This wrestler is none other then 'Hotsthot' Johnny Devine. Johnny Devine is a member of TNA's Team Canada and he has wrestled all over the world. With great ability and lots of heart you are looking at the favorite in this match. Jessy Jones is dirty though and will sink to new lows to retain his championship. We asked for comments on this breaking situation and Jones said "Does Johnny need another stabbing!" referring to injuries he suffered in a bar fight. Jones quickly back peddled and said "I was just joking I would never be in a bar or around one" and quickly took off. Sept 17th might be the day the Internet Championship leaves the waist of Jessy Jones and goes home with Johnny Devine.
The 21st Century Fox has never been a fan favorite in Goderich. In several other towns she is cheered for her ability and dedication, however for some reason when she enters to the ring in Goderich she is booed like no other. Wondering why we here at the PWA website think we have found out. When viewing old video footage the Fox stepped on the toe of some child who in turn hit Fox. Fox then smacked the child up side the head and told the parent they should raise their kid better. Since then it has been all hate for the Fox. Recently, Fox had issued as challenge and it has been answered. Fox's opponent for Saturday's event will be Krystal Banks out of the Neo Spirit Dojo. This should be a great contest, Krystal really wanting to make a statement in her PWA debut; as well it is rumored other ladies are interested in the results of this match as the Ladies Action is definitely picking up.
Pure Violence.. not always meaning hard core... but more ruthless aggression ,no rules, hate and no mercy, all represent what Buck 10 holds around his waist. Warhed and Marc Mandrake, who will be with Ferrari, have had chances at this Championship before, but now the stakes are even higher. Each man is looking to prove they are ready to take the next step, but little Buck 10 is in the way. The underdog has been lucky some might say, but others say to be lucky you have to be good. Warhed has become a crowd favorite and American Marc Mandrake is hated almost as much as he is in Buffalo. When the final bell is rung will Buck still be the Champion? Will Warhed be able to avoid the big move and hit one of his own to become champion? or will marc mandrake and his main squeeze Ferrari take the belt back to Tampa Bay?
'Outlaw' You damn right! Since entering the scene over seven years ago Scott Chase has built a reputation for being one of the more older style wrestlers. Being a hard hitting Texan who can chain wrestle and keep you grounded always means success. Scott holds Championships all over Ontario, yet he has never truly won the one thing that 'Cuban Sensation' Elian Habanaro holds deep to his heart. That thing is worth more then any championship to Elian, and that thing is the fans support. Elian has never been able to afford the flashy gear some guys have today, but he has been able to afford the hard work and constant give for the fans. Elian is a diamond in the rough and proved he can upset anyone as he proved when he pinned Shawn Spears to become the 1st ever Internet Champion. Chase should try to end this one early or you never know what will happen!
Geza Kalman JR will be locking up with 'Go Time' Chris Laplante in a match that definitely showcases two different styles. Geza was trained by the Melenkos and is technically solid. Geza also spent a lot of time with his good friend Dan Severn and he has become a great force in MMA action. Chris Laplante is younger to the business then Geza, however he has found out that he can hold his own and intends to do so when he meets Geza in the squared circle. Hitting, hard fast and as often as he can Chris will look to use his speed advantage on Geza to over come the odds and pick up the win.
Mike Stevens is the bad apple of the PWA. Recently Stevens turned on everybody, including his former tag partner Andrew Davis, no longer caring about anyone or anything other then himself. Stevens is looking to climb the ladder in the PWA and feels as though everything else has been holding him back. In his way on that climb is Hayden Avery. Hayden also wanting to make head waves here in the PWA has always gone the other route. Slapping hands and kissing babies is something Hayden does and enjoys as all the energy he creates from the crowd can often lift him off the mat when it should be over and have him give the last ounce of energy he has for his fans. This match is a battle of young and very hungry lion s... which one will get to feast in Goderich and which one will have to wait for another opportunity?

On Sunday I wrestled my 50th match of the year. That along with my 5 battle royals is the same amount of wrestling as what I did last year. The goal was a 100, but things dryed up right nice, so we shall see how things turn out. None the less I shall surpass my last years totals which is always a good thing.
Speaking of my 50th match of the year, it was against Cody Steele for the PWX Championship. I ended up winning the strap, but I think the fact Cody and I did the match in the ring the way we did it was the best part about the whole experience.
This Saturday CIWA will be holding the 2nd Annual Peterborough EX. I am not in it, [probably because I lost in the first round last year to The Hacker (damn you Jessy Jones)] but it will be a great show so everyone should check it out.

The 21st Century Fox was watching tv and she told me to come see for a minute. So I went to check out what was on the tv... only to see it was her Stylin' Gypsey makerover story from over two years ago. I laughed and then she turned it on. I seen my part in it and laughed in shame... what a tool.
Tomorrow I will be wrestling Cody Steele for the second time in my career. I am looking forward to this match, I am sure I will learn a lot and if everything goes well I might even walk out with the PWX Heavyweight Championship.
